South Africans grappling with rising fuel costs now have a new option. DFSK South Africa has introduced an LPG Autogas conversion for its petrol models, giving motorists the ability to run vehicles on both petrol and LPG.

The dual‑fuel system promises savings of up to 50%, a payback period of less than a year, and greater flexibility for everyday driving.

CEO Gina Giani says the decision was driven by customer needs: “Fuel prices are not coming down anytime soon. What we’re offering is a solution that works right now — immediate savings, practical usage, and no compromise on daily operations.”

The conversion is fully approved, maintains the vehicle warranty, and offers cleaner combustion that may extend engine life. Unlike electric vehicles, which face challenges around cost and infrastructure, LPG Autogas provides a ready‑to‑use solution without range anxiety or charging delays.

DFSK South Africa expects strong uptake among small businesses, fleet operators, and high‑mileage drivers, where fuel costs directly affect profitability. Customers can include the conversion in vehicle finance packages, making it more accessible to those seeking long‑term affordability.

While electric vehicles remain part of the broader automotive future, DFSK South Africa believes LPG Autogas offers a bridge to more sustainable motoring. “EVs have their place, but for many customers today, the barriers are still too high,” Giani explains. “This is about giving people a practical, cost‑effective option that delivers immediate relief.”

The total cost (installation included) amounts to R33 350.
