Renault Trafic Passenger Returns to South Africa

Renault has reintroduced the Trafic Passenger to the South African market, bringing back a nameplate that has been absent locally for almost two decades. The new model forms part of Renault's expanding product portfolio and is aimed at families, shuttle operators and businesses looking for a versatile and comfortable people mover.

Designed to accommodate up to nine occupants, the Trafic Passenger bridges the gap between traditional family MPVs and commercial shuttle vehicles. Its spacious cabin, modular seating arrangement and generous luggage capacity make it equally suitable for private transport, airport transfers and corporate fleets.

Inside, Renault has focused on comfort and connectivity. An 8-inch multimedia touchscreen is paired with a digital instrument cluster, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard to provide seamless smartphone integration. Depending on the model, buyers can also enjoy features such as a wireless phone charger, heated driver's seat and premium upholstery.

Practicality remains one of the Trafic Passenger's biggest strengths. The cabin offers up to 84.2 litres of storage distributed throughout the interior, while the flexible seating configuration allows the vehicle to be transformed from a people mover into a cargo carrier with up to 6,000 litres of load space when required.

The exterior adopts Renault's latest design language with distinctive Pure Vision C-shaped LED headlights, a bold Renault diamond badge and 16-inch alloy wheels. Customers can further personalise the vehicle with accessories including roof bars, side steps, towbar options and illuminated door sills.

Under the bonnet sits a 2.0-litre dCi turbo diesel engine producing 125 kW and 380 Nm of torque. Power is delivered through a nine-speed automatic transmission, providing smooth performance for both urban driving and long-distance touring.

Renault South Africa offers the Trafic Passenger in three derivatives. The range starts with the Trafic 2.0 dCi Evolution at R979,999, followed by the Evolution+ at R1,016,999 and the flagship Techno+ at R1,049,999.

Every model is backed by a 5-year/150,000 km mechanical warranty, a 5-year/90,000 km service plan and 24-hour roadside assistance, providing peace of mind for both private owners and commercial operators.
