Leapmotor has introduced its dedicated smartphone app to South Africa, giving C10 REEV customers seamless digital access to their vehicles and connected services.

The launch follows the brand’s local debut in 2025 and represents a significant step in strengthening the connected ownership experience.

The C10 REEV is a family-sized SUV that operates exclusively in electric mode, supported by a 1.5-litre petrol engine acting as a generator to extend range. It offers up to 145 kilometres of pure electric driving and a combined range of 970 kilometres under local conditions. Power comes from a rear-mounted electric motor producing 158kW and 320Nm, paired with a 28.4kWh lithium iron phosphate battery.

Through the app, owners can unlock and access their vehicles using their smartphones. It also provides remote status information, charging updates and notifications. The main registered owner can add up to eight additional profiles, with the option to restrict access to specific features.

Although the app replaces the need for a key card for entry, the card remains necessary to start the vehicle. Alternatively, owners can start the car by entering a security code.

Janus Janse van Rensburg, Head of Marketing and Sales for Leapmotor at Stellantis South Africa, said the app marks an important step in delivering a fully connected ownership experience. Customers are enrolled at handover, with secure activation via QR code and PIN protection.
