This year marks the assembly of Tata’s eleven thousandth unit at its Rosslyn facility, a milestone that emphasises the company’s dedication to long term industrial development in South Africa. Tata’s operations in Rosslyn began in 2011 and the facility became a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Africa Holdings in 2023.
Rosslyn has become known for its integrated approach to industrial development. Manufacturing plants sit alongside logistics centres, retail areas and residential spaces, creating an environment that supports growth and innovation. The Automotive Industry Development Centre’s Automotive Supplier Park forms a key part of this ecosystem, bringing together component manufacturers, suppliers and Original Equipment Manufacturers to encourage cost efficiency and shared technological advancement.
These networks support companies like Tata by creating streamlined supply chains, faster access to components and collaborative opportunities that enhance overall performance. The focus on sustainability and digital transformation also strengthens the area’s appeal. Smart manufacturing, renewable energy integration and advanced logistics systems are becoming part of daily operations across Rosslyn.
The long-term vision for the region includes the ongoing development of the Tshwane Automotive City. This project aims to link road, rail and port logistics while positioning Rosslyn as a regional automotive production powerhouse with access to SADC trade routes.
