Nissan has reaffirmed its commitment to South Africa with the launch of two new models, the New Model Year X-Trail and the limited-edition Magnite Kuro.
These additions are the fourth and fifth major introductions for 2025, following the PRO-4X Warrior by Premcar, Stealth variants of the Navara and the Magnite Move panel van.

The Magnite Kuro is a standout compact SUV that brings an exclusive blacked-out design. Based on the N-Connect trim, it replaces chrome and silver finishes with black accents across the roof rails, skid plates, grille inserts and alloy wheels, completed with a Kuro badge. The interior mirrors the dark theme with a gloss-black dashboard, synthetic leather seats and wireless charging.
Power comes from Nissan—s HRA0 1.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 74kW and 152Nm, paired with an X-Tronic CVT. It also offers practical features such as a 5-metre turning radius, cruise control, hill start assist, ABS with EBD, LED headlamps and vehicle dynamic control. The Kuro will be available in showrooms at an introductory price of R352 900.
The New Model Year X-Trail arrives as a versatile family SUV with strong all-terrain capability. It is equipped with a 2.5-litre petrol engine producing 135kW and 244Nm, linked to a CVT transmission. With 211mm ground clearance, 2 000kg towing capacity and independent suspension, it is well suited to South African conditions.
The Visia and Acenta grades seat five and offer an 8— infotainment system and 585— luggage space. The Acenta adds 18— alloys, dual-zone air conditioning and an all-round view monitor. The Acenta Plus introduces a 12.3— touchscreen, head-up display, terrain mode and an optional seven-seat layout for larger families.
Nissan has also lowered prices across the X-Trail range, with the Visia starting at R587 900, the Acenta at R666 900 and the Acenta Plus AWD at R749 900. By adding style, capability and value, Nissan says these new models reinforce its commitment to delivering modern vehicles tailored to South African drivers.
