Changan is preparing to enter South Africa’s mid-sized SUV market with the UNI-S, set to launch in April 2026.
Positioned as a practical yet premium option, it combines modern styling with useful features such as a panoramic sunroof that closes automatically when rain is detected, reversing side mirrors, and an electric tailgate.
The cabin centres around a 12.8-inch infotainment display with eight speakers, complemented by conveniences like a Bluetooth-enabled mobile phone key. Safety and driver assistance are a strong focus, with adaptive cruise control, collision warnings, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic parking and a 540° panoramic camera system.

Power comes from Changan’s 1.5-litre “Blue Whale” turbo-petrol engine producing 138kW and 300Nm, paired with multi-link independent rear suspension for a composed ride.
Prices will be announced closer to launch.
