iCAUR 03T Strengthens South Africa’s Electric SUV Market

iCAUR 03T launches in South Africa under Chery Global, offering 2WD and AWD EV variants with fast charging, strong range and modern SUV tech.

The arrival of the iCAUR 03T marks another significant step in South Africa’s transition towards new-energy vehicles.

Introduced under the Chery Global umbrella, the 03T is positioned above the V23 and offered in two versions, a 2WD and an AWD, each designed to balance capability, comfort and technology.

Visually, the 03T presents a bold and modern take on SUV design. Strong geometric lines, upright proportions and pronounced wheel arches give it a purposeful stance, while slim lighting elements and a panoramic glass sunroof add a contemporary edge. The body is constructed from an all-aluminium multi-cavity cage, which reduces weight by more than 30 per cent and offers corrosion resistance for up to three decades.

Performance is tailored to suit different driving needs. The 2WD model delivers 135 kW and 220 Nm from a single rear-mounted motor, supported by a 65.69 kWh battery. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds and offers an NEDC-estimated range of 431 km.

The AWD version uses a dual-motor setup producing 205 kW and 385 Nm, paired with a larger 69.77 kWh battery. It reaches 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and extends range slightly to 436 km. Both models are limited to 150 km/h and can be charged from 10 to 80 per cent in 30 minutes using DC fast charging.

Inside, the 03T provides a spacious cabin with a 2,715 mm wheelbase and seating for five. Boot space measures 450 litres, expanding to 1,238 litres when the rear seats are folded. The 2WD trim includes climate control, leather upholstery and heated, ventilated front seats, while the AWD adds massage functions and an adjustable leg rest. Technology features include a 15.6-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, voice command functionality and wireless device charging.

Safety is comprehensive, with six airbags, ISOFIX points, ESP, traction control and a 540-degree surround-view camera. Advanced driver assistance systems such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking and Lane-Keep Assist are standard.

Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager at iCAUR South Africa, said: “The new 03T is a very clear expression of what iCAUR stands for: an electric SUV with strong visual character and the technology to make every journey easier.”

The 03T 2WD is priced at R639,900, while the AWD costs R699,900. Sales begin on 28 May 2026, supported by extensive warranty and service plans to reinforce ownership confidence.
