Ford sharpens Ranger line-up for 2026

Ford refreshes its Ranger range in South Africa, now 23 derivatives strong, blending rugged performance, luxury, and advanced tech across all models.

Ford has refreshed its Ranger range, reinforcing its status as one of South Africa’s favourite bakkies.

Built at Silverton, the line-up now stretches to 23 derivatives across Single Cab, Super Cab and Double Cab formats, offering everything from hard-working fleet models to luxury and performance flagships.

The new Ranger Sport slots neatly between XLT and Wildtrak, adding dynamic styling and versatile features. Engines have been broadened and refined: highlights include the 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol with 222kW and 452Nm, available in Sport and Wildtrak, and the 3.0-litre V6 turbodiesel with 184kW and 600Nm, now offered more widely.

The Raptor continues to lead performance with its 3.0-litre twin-turbo petrol V6 delivering 292kW and 583Nm, while the 2.0-litre Single Turbo diesel has been upgraded for durability, producing 125kW and 405Nm.

Design remains muscular and modern, with each derivative tailored to its role: Sport bridges practicality and ruggedness, Wildtrak and Tremor emphasise off-road capability, Platinum leans into luxury, and Raptor stands apart with race-inspired suspension and aggressive detailing.

Inside, cabins blend comfort and technology, from the practical XL to the SUV-like refinement of Platinum, with Ford’s latest infotainment and safety systems standardised across the range.

Pricing starts at R590 000 for the XL Single Cab and climbs to R1 299 000 for the Raptor. Between these bookends, buyers can choose from XLT, Sport, Wildtrak, Tremor and Platinum, each balancing affordability, versatility, premium features or outright performance.
