FAW Trucks Southern Africa brought together its continental dealer network for a comprehensive two-day conference at its Coega manufacturing hub, where the company outlined its export growth plans and technological progress ahead of 2026. Delegates from five African countries joined the brand’s leadership team to discuss future products, improved customer support and expanding market opportunities.

The event highlighted FAW’s increasing confidence in African markets, supported by the strong performance of trucks assembled at the 103 000 square metre Coega plant. Guests were given an in depth look at new models set to launch in 2026, all of which have completed rigorous testing on some of the toughest roads in South Africa.

Presentations detailed significant upgrades across FAW’s product portfolio. Enhancements include reinforced chassis designs, improved cooling systems and axle configurations developed to suit specific regional requirements. The brand also announced new financial packages created with established lending institutions to better support cross border transporters.

In a major boost to long term customer support, FAW confirmed new investment in after sales infrastructure. This includes two additional regional parts hubs in Lusaka and Maputo, expanded technician training facilities, and the introduction of a twenty-four-hour multilingual breakdown assistance system to support operators across Southern Africa.

Executive Director Richard Leiter addressed the significance of local testing in building durable commercial vehicles. “When a truck survives and prospers here, we know it will excel anywhere in our region.”

COO Xie Huang emphasised the strategic importance of the Coega plant. “The investments we announced this week in parts availability, technician training and customer financing demonstrate that FAW is here for the long haul.”

The conference concluded with recognition of the achievements of FAW’s dealer partners operating across ten countries, reinforcing a unified approach to future regional expansion.
