CMS Systems has marked its 25th anniversary with a gala event in Johannesburg, celebrating its evolution from a niche technology provider into a leading force in automotive retail solutions.
The milestone comes as the company unveils its next-generation platform, the CMS ONE ECO System, signalling a future shaped by artificial intelligence and data-driven dealership operations.
Over the past quarter century, CMS Systems has built a reputation for delivering software-as-a-service tailored to the automotive sector. Its platforms help dealerships manage customer leads, track sales, oversee stock, and streamline aftersales services.

The CMS ONE ECO System is a key component with embedded AI capability known as Wilson i.
Today, the company supports more than 1 300 dealer floors and collaborates with over 30 vehicle manufacturers. More than 23 000 individuals use its systems daily, while 75 000 vehicles are listed online through its network across advertising platforms and social media. Each month, over 225 000 electronic leads are distributed, connecting buyers and dealerships in real time.
The company’s reach extends well beyond South Africa. Its footprint now includes Namibia, Zambia, Malawi, Angola and Mauritius, with further expansion into Malta and Yemen. This international growth reflects the wider shift towards digital retail solutions in emerging markets, where efficiency and connectivity are increasingly vital.
A defining feature of CMS Systems’ journey has been the longevity of its client relationships. Many of its original dealer partners remain part of its network, enabling the company to refine its offerings while maintaining a stable user base. Over time, its platform has evolved into a comprehensive ecosystem, integrating customer relationship management tools with operational dashboards that provide insights from individual sales staff to dealer groups and manufacturers.
Looking ahead, the CMS ONE ECO System represents a significant leap forward. Embedded within the platform is Wilson i, an artificial intelligence capability designed to deliver real-time insights, automate routine processes and support decision-making. Predictive analytics, enhanced customer profiling and improved communication tools are among the features aimed at helping dealerships adapt to shifting market conditions and customer expectations.

In the fireside chat were Mark Dio (MC), Leon Kemp (Managing Director) and Francois Kemp (Technical Director).
By embedding AI directly into its systems, CMS Systems is positioning itself at the forefront of a sector where data is increasingly seen as a critical asset. While its core mission remains supporting dealerships, the company’s future direction points to a greater emphasis on automation, connectivity and digital ecosystems.
As CMS Systems celebrates its 25-year milestone, its trajectory underscores how technology continues to reshape automotive retail, with innovation and long-term partnerships driving the next chapter of growth.
