Citroën has introduced the Hola panel van to address South Africa’s growing demand for compact, passenger car-based commercial vehicles. With e-commerce volumes surging and small businesses seeking agile solutions for city logistics, the Hola arrives as a timely contender in the sub-half-tonne segment.
The van is powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder PureTech petrol engine producing 60 kW and 115 Nm, paired with a five-speed manual gearbox. Fuel efficiency is a highlight, with a combined consumption of 5.6 ℓ/100 km. Cargo needs are met by a fully enclosed bay offering a 386 kg payload capacity, an integrated bulkhead, and secure tie-down points for safety.

Inside, operators benefit from a 10-inch high-definition touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a 7-inch digital cluster and multifunction steering wheel. Comfort and convenience are supported by full air conditioning, power steering, and rear parking sensors. Safety is prioritised with dual front, side and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD, and robust driver assistance features.
Priced from R242 500, the Hola undercuts several rivals in the segment. Competitors include the Hyundai Venue Cargo Xtra (around R321 500), Hyundai i10 Cargo (R249 500), Kia Sonet (from R284 955), Chery Tiggo Pro Panel Van (around R309 900), and VW Polo Vivo Express (R279 990).
Citroën’s Hola positions itself as a practical, affordable option for South African SMEs navigating the challenges of urban delivery and logistics.
