BMW has presented the Vision ALPINA concept at the 2026 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este as an indication of how it intends to develop the ALPINA brand in future.
The concept outlines BMW’s view of ALPINA as a luxury performance marque, with an emphasis on comfort, long-distance usability and restrained design rather than a more aggressive high-performance approach.
The four-seat coupé measures just over 5.2 metres in length and features a low roofline, wide stance and styling elements associated with earlier ALPINA models, including multi-spoke wheels and a shark-nose front end. BMW has also retained a V8 engine, indicating that the brand’s focus on high-speed touring will remain central to its identity.
Inside, the cabin is designed around space, visibility and material quality. Leather trim, metal and crystal detailing, and BMW’s panoramic digital display system are used to create a more premium environment, while maintaining the brand’s focus on comfort and ease of use.
Founded in Buchloe in 1965, ALPINA built its reputation by producing refined, high-performance versions of BMW road cars. Since BMW took control of the brand, the company has indicated that ALPINA will sit above mainstream BMW models in exclusivity, with the Vision ALPINA concept serving as an early statement of that direction.
