Audi South Africa has officially unveiled the all-new A5 Sedan, bringing a fresh sense of style, advanced technology to the midsize segment. Positioned as an alternative, the model combineselegance with modern innovation to appeal to drivers seeking both practicality and premium appeal.

The new A5 Sedan effectively takes over from the A5 Coupe and A5 Sportback and, to some extent, also steps into the shoes of the A4 Sedan.

It is a five-door lift-back featuring a distinctive fastback roofline, blending sporty proportions with everyday usability. At 4 829mm in length and 1 444mm in height, it offers generous interior space for front and rear passengers, complemented by a 445-litre luggage capacity.

The exterior design is characterised by clean lines, a low stance, and large wheels, all contributing to its confident road presence. A wider, flatter Singleframe grille dominates the front, paired with slim headlights and a sleek coupe-like silhouette that flows seamlessly to the tailgate with a subtle spoiler lip.

Inside, the cabin sets a new benchmark for digital innovation, according to Audi. At the heart of the interior is Audi's latest MMI panoramic display, also known as the 'Digital Stage'. This includes a curved 14.5-inch central touchscreen and an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit plus.

A new configurable head-up display adds another layer of functionality, allowing drivers to control vehicle and infotainment features directly through it for the first time. It provides a 3D visualisation of driver assistance systems, showing cars, cyclists, pedestrians, buses, and trucks detected by the system.

Further enhancing convenience, the self-learning voice assistant now integrates ChatGPT, activated by saying 'Hey Audi' or pressing the steering wheel button.

Powering the A5 Sedan are two 2.0 TFSI engines. The first delivers 146 kW and 340 Nm with front-wheel drive, while the second produces 200kW and 400Nm with Audi's quattro all-wheel-drive system. Both engines come paired with a seven-speed S tronic dual-clutch transmission.

Pricing starts at R1 123 000 for the A5 Sedan TFSI 146 kW S line, while the range-topping A5 Sedan TFSI 200 kW quattro Black Edition is listed at R1 281 800.
